More Farm Pics

Joslynn, Lydia, Emma, Alyssa

Sandbox was pretty full some days!

Everyone wanted tractor rides.  Kenneth was nice and loaded everyone up.

Five kittens were born.  The mother cat kept moving them, so everyday the kids hunted them out.

Grandma snitching milk from the tank!!  Oh it is good and COLD straight from the tank.

Kaylynn "accidentally" fell in the mud!!

Alyssa learned to ride a two wheeler.  Yeah - no more training wheels.

In the evenings, after milking, the cows would go to the pasture behind the house.  The kids loved to stand in the driveway and watch them pass.  They clapped and cheered.  The best parade in Columbus!!

Bar B-Q chicken, slow cooked over coals = YUMMY!!  Best meal of the trip.  This brings back so many good memories.  We used to have the branch picnic at the farm every year.  My grandfather would build the bar-b-q pit and cook oodles of chicken for the branch.  The chicken would marinate in the sauce and then baste it while cooking.  We had some friends from the branch come one evening and reminsce about old times.  Scott was in charge of cooking the chicken and it was just as good as I remember.

Most of the cousins (Grace & Katelyn are missing)

Home Sweet Home

We were able to go back to New York this summer and I just loved it.  It has been three years since I was back at the farm and I was quite home sick.  All of my siblings were there and we were able to be together for a week.  The cousins had a great time playing together and it was just WONDERFUL to be home.

Daily rides to get the cows for milking and to follow them to the pasture after milking.

It rained, and rained and the kids loved the puddles!!

Jumping on the bales of hay.

All the kids helped at the barn. Opening the doors to let the cows in, milking and cleaning up afterwards.  There were several water fights, which were never allowed when we were kids, but grandkids are different.

There were two calves born and Josylnn loved to go see them and pet them.

Grandpa had a treasure hunt for us to go on.  Here we are receiving instructions at the start.  We went all over the farm to find the clues.  Very fun activity.
