Joslynn's hair

Joslynn has the prettiest red/auburn hair.  The older she gets it seems to be turning blonde though, and it makes me so sad.  When I braid her hair, or pull it back in ponytails the division is very prominent.  I took a picture so that if she does turn all blonde, I can remember the beautiful red.

Science Experiment

Ashley loves science and Mr. Pugmire has been fun to do science experiments with them.  Last week she came home and placed an egg in a glass of vinegar.  We left it overnight and she took it to school the next day.  The class watched as they bounced the egg outside and it splattered after a couple of bounces.  The vinegar has a reaction with the calcium in the egg shell.  The shell becomes soft and can be wiped off with your fingers.  The other girls wanted to see what happened, so we did the experiment at home.  We placed a brown egg and white egg in a glass of vinegar for two days.  Today we bounced the eggs on the side of the driveway.  The egg on the left was the brown shell, the right was white, but we rubbed off the whole shell.  The yellow yolk is very visible, pretty cool!

Blue and White Spring Scrimage

The annual trip to Provo for the Blue and White scrimage was Saturday, March 30th.  Allen, Tyler, Ashley, Alyssa and Joslynn ventured down and had a fun time.  The girls said the game was boring, but they had fun with all the activities.  Grandpa Dawes and Nathan went with them.  Kaylynn and I stayed home because Kaylynn had her tonsils and adenoids out three days previous, and she wasn't feeling up to the trip.  We enjoyed a quiet day at home and went on a nice walk for some fresh air.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday - we opted to go sugarless this Easter since Joslynn gets such a horrible skin rash from too much sugar.  We were able to find all gifts on a super clearance sale and they were all excited for the new things.  Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures before or after church.  I am grateful for Easter - to celebrate the Resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.  I am grateful for His gift and my chance for eternal life through Him.  I know the Savior lives and look forward to His return.

Ashley went on a ski trip with her class to Beaver Mountain.  It was a beautiful, sunny day and I sent sunblock with her, but she obviously missed a portion of her face.

Tyler was asked to give a talk on family history at a Regional Stake Conference November 2012.  It was held at the Spectrum at USU.  He spoke clearly and didn't even appear to be nervous.

Kaylynn's birthday

Kaylynn turned 9 years old on January 14th.  We celebrated with the usuall cake and icecream.  She requested a mint chocolate cake with mint frosting.  Kaylynn is our smily girl.  Kaylynn is the peacemaker of the family.  She will often give up something to make someone else happy.  She gets stuck in the back of the suburban, because no one else will to sit back there.  She is always willing to share. Kaylynn is very quiet and shy around other people.  She is diligent in her school work and is loved by her school teacher.  Kaylynn has a very tender heart and has a desire to do what is right.  She plays the piano and loves to read.   We are grateful she is part of our family and thankful for her special gifts.

Easter Eggs

Easter was March 31 this year.  Tyler was not interested in participating in dyeing Easter eggs, so we did it without him.  That explains why he does not exist in any of the pictures. He missed out on a fun time, and the girls made him feel bad for not doing it with them.

Kaylynn had her tonsils and adenoids out two days prior to this picture (march 27th).  Her throat was pretty sore.  Her tonsils were sent for a biopsy because they were assymetrical and the right one had abnormal tissue.  We were very relieved and happy to get the results of a negative biospy.  We are grateful for the prayers that were offered in her behalf.  She still loves the cold creamies and is aprehensive in trying some foods for fear of it hurting. 

The finished project!!  The chocolate color was the least favorite. We made our own dye with vinegar and food color. 

Alyssa's Birthday

Alyssa's sixth birthday was February 20th.  She has afternoon Kindergarten, so we were able to spend the morning together.  We took her to Bluebird for lunch and she was so excited to get a free dessert.  She recieved a birthday hat at school to recognize her and she was so happy and excited all day.  Dennis came out for dinner and dessert.  We made a mint cake roll with ice cream.  Alyssa is a joy to have in our home.  Her favorite color is pink and purple.  She loves to color, is learning to read.  She shares a room with Joslynn and likes music or books on tape to listen to after she is in bed.  She has school from 12:30-3:20.  Her teacher is Mindy Richardson and I go into her classroom every Wednesday to help with projects.  Alyssa loves to watch "the Brady Bunch, and Bewitched". 

100 days of school!  She had to place 100 objects on her heart.

I found more pictures from the night of the Eagle and have a little more time to post them.  It was a fabulous night and very thankful for all the family and friends that were able to come support Tyler.
