Summer Fun

Tramp with sprinklers - a good mix.

Dennis with Alyssa, Joslynn and Grace.  Jason and his family have moved to Texas.  We were blessed to have Jason and Grace here for July 4th and had fun together for a final time before they moved.

Sherith, my sister-in-law, came for a week visit with her children.  We were able to go to the Steadman's ranch in Idaho for some water fun.  They have a zip line, and two water slides.  They had a great time - very fun place to go.

Cooperstown, NY

Allen did take one day to take Tyler, Ashley and Kaylynn to Cooperstown.  The girls were not real thrilled about the Baseball Hall of Fame and were bored.  They ate lunch by the lake, watched part of a baseball game, and window shopped.  Allen said he wouldn't take them again.

Kenneth and Scott reading the Fast Line (tractor magazine).  We are extremely grateful that Kenneth is healthy again and pray that the cancer will stay away.

We celebrated Scott's 36th birthday with a nice dinner and dirt cake.

We spent several days picking up scattered branches that were in the pasture.  We had three big piles like this and that was one HOT fire.  Tyler was very proud of himself, as he set this one.  The two other piles were set when my brothers were around and they used the bucket on the tractor to push the pile up.  We were left to do it by hand.  I threatened Dad to never scatter the branches again, or better yet, have the hired man pick up his mess!!!

The "PIT", Lagoon, or pile of manure!  Dad hired some men to empty the pit.  They had draglines that were able to fertilize the fields two miles away.  It was a lot faster than by the spreader and tractor.  I haven't seen the pit empty since it was built in the 1980's.  My siblings and I remember riding our bikes down in it while it was being completed.

My brothers spent the majority of their time haying.  They love it and it is a huge help to my parents.  They were able to bale and wrap 1000 bales, pretty good for first cutting.  The girls really liked watching Scott wrap the bales with plastic.  We sat in the fields just watching them.

This is the drag line at work.  All that "fresh country air" is coming from the lagoon at the farm.  This field is about a mile away.
