Spring Break

The children had a week off of school for spring break from March 31- April 4, 2014.   We were hoping for wonderful, sunny weather, but had snow, rain, hail, sleet, all occurring in the same day, for multiple days.  We tried to make the best of it though.  Tyler and Ashley went to the temple twice to do baptisms for the dead, waking at 0430 to get there by 0500 when the baptistery opens.  They were home by 0615 and quickly went back to bed.  Tyler has worked hard to find family names and was baptized for them.  I am very proud of their decision to go and know they will be blessed for their sacrifice.
Allen took an afternoon off to go bowling with us.  Tyler came out the winner, and I the loser.  Pretty sad to say that even Joslyn & Alyssa beat my score.  My ball was just driven to the gutter no matter where or how I threw it!!

Excitement after my only spare; notice no pins standing!!!! Final score 49!!

Kaylynn's strike

One of Tyler's many strikes or spares.  His final score 109.  He was very proud to beat his mother!!

When we left the house to go bowling it was sunny, no wind.  When finished bowling, it was snowing, windy and cold!  We ventured for a short trip to the temple grounds.  The fountain was going and the water was COLD!!  We stayed long enough to get a picture, and then went home for hot chocolate!

Alyssa lost her front tooth.  It had been crooked and I kept asking her if I could pull it.  She ended up hitting her knee on her tooth and knocked it out herself.  The other tooth is loose and she wiggles it daily.

We went to first dam to feed the ducks. Alyssa and Joslynn loved chasing them.  It was a fight between the seagulls and ducks for the bread.  As the photos show, it was snowing when we arrived, but we were prepared with warm coats.
